Over 20 years ago Dr. Larry Stroud, DMD, began his Valley Smiles office at 10303-1/2 Dixie Highway in Louisville, Kentucky. Over the years Dr. Stroud became frustrated seeing people suffering with their dentures and partial plates. Often the dentures were loose and would float around; people had trouble eating; their mouths would stay sore and they hated using all those messy adhesives to keep their teeth in.
After seeing the need for alternatives to expensive and invasive traditional implants to solve these issues, Dr. Stroud became aware of mini-dental implants that require no surgery, minimal healing time and cost much less than traditional implants.
Unique to the area, Dr. Stroud trained with the leader in the mini-implant process, Dr. Todd Shatkin of New York. This training meant he could offer patients the most state-of-the-art technology and care relating to mini dental implants.
Throughout that time, Dr. Stroud helped thousands of people throughout the Ohio Valley, central and western Kentucky, and Indiana. The mini implants changed people’s lives: patients could eat – and enjoy – their favorite foods again, patients regained their confidence, and patients could live their lives to the fullest.
After years of searching for the perfect person to continue his commitment to patient care, Dr. Stroud met Dr. Regan Ackerman, DMD.
As a member of the Mini Dental Implant Centers of America™, she is an elite member of a group of dentists in the United States. Having worked together with Dr. Stroud and trained extensively with Dr. Todd Shatkin, she prides herself in giving her patients the unique care they deserve and strives to meet the needs of each patient.
She and her staff operate as Freedom Mini Dental Implants at the same office Dr. Stroud established years ago. She is continuing the mission set by Dr. Stroud to change as many lives for the better as possible with mini dental implants.
